My Fighter

Adrian Michaels, a former boxing world champion, experiences a flashback to his last fight where he hospitalized Richard Dawson. Through Bailey, his pupil, we learn Adrian still carries the guild of this accident and has shut himself from human connection. After Bailey suggests going to go visit Richard, Adrian heads home and has a couple drinks, falling asleep before leaving. He is awoken from a phone call that shares the news Richard has passed away. Overcome with emotion, Adrian meets Bailey at the gym where she reminds him that we all carry guilt and we all have to over come it. Inspired by these words, time passes and Adrian reveals a more human side, choosing to write a novel about his experience as a boxer. We end with Adrian at the memorial for Richard, leaving his world champion belt, a reminder of what started it all.
