Matt Lear

Matt Lear is a Toronto-based actor who has honed his craft through intensive training in both Toronto (LB Acting Studio & Milne Acting Studio), and in Los Angeles (Robert D’Avanzo at RD Studios in North Hollywood). With a passion for storytelling Matt has developed a versatile skill set that allows him to bring depth and authenticity to his performances. Whether on stage or screen, Matt continues to push creative boundaries, drawing from his diverse training and life experiences to captivate audiences.
Mary Rupert
After nearly a decade away from acting, Mary Rupert is getting back into it. She broke away to establish herself in the fitness world but eventually, began to miss performing. Her goal this time around is to step into action and stunts for film, television, and motion capture, wanting to find a way to blend the physicality of her training job with performance. She’s explored a lot of special skills training including: weapons work, motion capture classes, fight workshops, and parkour. But while she trains for the action and stunt world, she finds work as a lead actor in student short films from Humber, TMU, and Sheridan.


Thomas Murgatroyd - Director/Writer
Thomas Murgatroyd is a 20-year-old writer and director from Stirling, Scotland, and lives in Toronto, Canada. He has been writing short screenplays since he was attending high school, and attended Humber Polytechnic for Film & Television Production from 2022-2025. He has had an interest in film since he was a child and was first shown the 1975 film “Jaws”. Since then, he has been constantly writing short stories and screenplays, inspired by the magic of movie-making. Throughout his time at Humber Polytechnic, Thomas wrote the 2024 horror comedy short “Deliverance" and wrote and directed the 2025 drama film “My Fighter”. Thomas is incredibly excited to share his stories with the world. Following graduation, Thomas hopes to become a writer and continue to tell stories and join the Writers’ Guild Of Canada.
Olivia Fabris - Producer
A long time fan of film and television, Olivia is an emerging producer, enjoying all the behind the scenes of bringing a film from script to screen. She has had the great pleasure to work on a number of projects prior to this, including A Place to Stay (2023) and A Man Proposes (2024) as well as a number of Humber productions, including a short documentary, The Derailment, 1979 (2024) where she had to opportunity to direct, and had her producing debut with Sweat Loaf (2024) which was recently accepting into the Markham Film Festival and Toronto Short Film Festival. She aspires to grow her career in film as a producer and continue to bring stories and dreams to life for both the big and small screen. When she is not working on a media project, she enjoys relaxing in nature with a good book and her fur babies by her side.


Daniel Laurin - Director of Photography
Daniel Laurin is an emerging cinematographer pursuing the mastery of visual storytelling through his narrative projects. He grew up inspired by the resourcefulness of the internet video era but finds true joy in the smell of popcorn and that feeling that washes over you when you step outside the theatre after watching a perfect movie. On set, Daniel is a camera nerd with a keen eye for light. He ensures that the image is crafted with purpose, delivering the highest visual fidelity and emotional impact possible in every frame. Working professionally in Toronto, Daniel now has a wide range of experience on student, indie and commercial productions. Notably, Daniel was the cinematographer of Trying Memory (2024) and award-winning short films It’s Real to Me (2023) and Signs of Absence (2023).
William Robotham - Editor & Camera Operator
William Robotham is a growing picture editor based in Toronto, Ontario. Dedicated and passionate about his craft, William is currently completing his Advanced Diploma in Film and Television Production at Humber Polytechnic, with expertise in cinematography and post-production. With a keen eye for detail, structure, and rhythm, William has experience working as an editor on both short and feature-length documentaries. He co-edited the feature-length documentary “Threads That Tie Us: An Oshwal Odyssey” in 2024. Honing his skills as a picture editor, William is thrilled to be collaborating with Thomas Murgatroyd in bringing “My Fighter” to life.
